My Python Experience Starts With Linux

6 mins by The Python Experience |

There's tons of approaches to The Python Experience, but mine started originally with my switch to Linux (from Windows and Mac) and today continues as most of the servers I install scheduled-tasks onto tend to be Debian-derivative Linux, which makes cron scheduling very easy, with it's hourly, daily, weekly and monthly folders into which you can drop standard Linux shell scripts (if you leave off the .sh extension). Everyone's Python experience has to start with some sort of "execution context", be it automation and control systems, web programming, or as a very fancy calculator.
